Goal

Everyone make at least one contribution to an open source project.

Results

The results were not very successful, while everyone wanted to contribute, I did not properly prep the team for the event.

Here are some reasons why we failed:

1. Less than 24 hour notice - not enough time.

2. Everyone took a lot of time shopping for a project.

3. It takes time to get up to speed on policies and procedures.

4. It is really hard to ship.

Plan for Week 2

Instead of having everyone separately choose a project, we are going to choose a project as a team and work through as many issues as possible.

We are going to document the issues and maybe create a tool or plan on how to quickly get started contributing to open source projects.
